Stamps and Tradewinds

Journal Entry: Mon May 19, 2008, 12:04 AM
  • Mood: Zest
  • Reading: Faerun campaign setting
  • Playing: the eBay market
So apparently the Lackadaisy stamps are wildly popular. Wow. Thanks to everybody who liked or faved!
I may or may not make more. Animated stamps are a fiasco when you're still learning ImageReady.

GAH it's HOT here! Where I live spring is well over and summer is here. I still have not figured out the air conditioner here in the house. This will be remedied- this week, I say!

I have posted the second installment of the steampunk fantasy I'm scribbling at, which I've decided to call Tradewinds for now. Thomasina Quinn slowly makes herself known to me, and in this second bit we get to meet her friend Gavin Theorbo and his pet, Styx. Art illustrating their world will be found in my gallery. A picture of Quinn herself is forthcoming, so watch for that.

I am counting down the days until the SCA event I am going to attend. I'll be with a few groups, because I have friends in three warbands, so we'll be visiting two of them and camping with the third. SO EXCITED!! I've been doing nerdy history research on the Gallowglass mercenaries of Scotland. If my leine ( akind of tunic shirt thing) gets here in time I get to try saffron dyeing with my own two grubby paws, and have an awesome bit of garb! It's gonna be so hot at the camp! Must prep for that.

Heck, I'm terrified of a few of mine. Some are villains, some are crazy; most of them are likeable people though.

I would be friends with my characters, but a lot of them are too much like me to be fully comfortable around.

I can't do the stats to save my life. I have to have other people tell me what to roll for how much, but the Characters, now... They are why I RP. I draw, therefore I write, and these characters become some of my better friends.

How did you start RPing? For me, it's just an inordinate love of filling in stat sheets. I don't know why.
